2011 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-2011-02

Description

ADC-1c-2011-02 is an atypical die clash on a 2011-P Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, with clash marks on both sides. On the obverse, stripes from the shield show in the fields, a little near Lincoln's mouth and on his coat collar, and the edge of the shield appears in front of and behind the portrait. The letters UNU of UNUM sit in front of and behind the tie, with part of a B on the lapel and part of the P under LIBERTY. MDC compares it to ADC-1c-2011-01 and ADC-1c-2010-01, which are similar but have their clash marks in slightly different places. On the reverse, the bottom of Lincoln's nose, his jaw, his beard and part of his hair can be seen within the shield. The coin is courtesy of James Mitchell.
