Description

On the 2009 Lincoln cent Formative Years design, DDR-002 displays a very strong spread manifesting as an extra index finger north of the normal index finger on the young Lincoln figure. Cross-referenced as Cherrypickers FS-803, this variety is cataloged by VarietyVista with universal variety code UVC-2616 and die marriage record DMR-004. Six die stages document an extensive die life. Stage A is unconfirmed. Stage B in early-to-mid die state shows light die cracks on the right boot ankle and northeast from the left bootstrap, with minute die chips on the normal index finger and shirtsleeve, plus a die crack with chip above the eye. Stage C develops a small die chip on the right boot ankle. Stage D adds a second small chip at the same location. Stages E and F in mid-die state and late die state respectively remain unconfirmed.
