2009 (D) Lincoln Cent - Early Childhood - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-029

Description

2009-D EC WDDR-029 is a doubled die reverse on the 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial cent with the Early Childhood reverse, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on log end #7 at its upper right and on log end #9 along its right side. Wexler describes two stages. Stage A is an early die state (EDS) with no significant markers on either side. Obverse Stage B: a small gouge (dot) north of the E in LIBERTY, on its left side; a gouge in the field left of the right shoulder; two small gouges close to the rim right of the 9; a crack running NW to SE through the chin; and a crack running NE to SW through the lower bowtie that then turns south into the vest, with a small die chip on it at the lower left of the bowtie. Reverse Stage B: a small gouge left of the second T in STATES, near its top; a small gouge right of the fourth log end from the bottom, at the cabin's right end; a small gouge (dot) above the N in CENT, on its left; and a crack that starts at the rim and heads east through both letters of RM, which then turns SE and leaves the M at its lower right corner.
