2009 (D) Lincoln Cent - Early Childhood - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

2009-D EC WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial cent with the Early Childhood reverse, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on log ends #5 to #9, on their left sides. On the obverse: small gouges over the I and B of LIBERTY and between them; a crack heading NW through the eyebrow and into the forehead; and a crack crossing the upper front of the forehead from NW to SE. On the reverse: a gouge left of the top of the T in UNITED; a small gouge under the lower left of the D in UNITED; and a crack running east from the rim through the lower part of the RM initials. Marilyn Keeney submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
