2009 (D) Lincoln Cent - Early Childhood - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-027

Description

2009-D EC WDDR-027 is a doubled die reverse on the 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial cent with the Early Childhood reverse, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the upper and lower right of log end #7. On the obverse, a short horizontal gouge lies left of the L in LIBERTY at its base, and a pre-die crack depression crosses the eyebrow heading NW and continues into the forehead. On the reverse, a small gouge sits immediately right of the U in UNITED, high on the letter; a short vertical gouge is under the A in STATES, toward its right side; and vertical scratches lie between the M and E in AMERICA. Marilyn Keeney submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
