2009 (D) Lincoln Cent - Early Childhood - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-020

Description

2009-D EC WDDR-020 is a doubled die reverse on the 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial cent with the Early Childhood reverse, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the lower right of log end #7, on log end #9 along its right side, and on the lower right of log end #10. On the obverse, a short diagonal scratch lies between the upper parts of the E and R in LIBERTY, a small gouge (dot) sits between the bottoms of its B and E, and a small gouge is WSW of the mint mark. On the reverse, a short vertical gouge is to the right of the N in UNITED at its top; left of the O in OF, at its bottom, is a gouge; a small gouge lies right of the R in AMERICA at its center; and there is die pitting inside the upper right of the C in AMERICA. Marilyn Keeney submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
