2009 (D) Lincoln Cent - Early Childhood - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-018

Description

2009-D EC WDDR-018 is a doubled die reverse on the 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial cent with the Early Childhood reverse, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is at the tops of log ends #5, #6 and #7. Obverse markers: over the E in LIBERTY, a short gouge lying nearly horizontal; a gouge beneath the right side of the N in IN; a small gouge directly beneath the G of GOD; a short vertical gouge on the left inside of the O in GOD; and a gouge on the vest front, SSE of the 2. Reverse markers: a heavy gouge south of the F in OF, over the cabin roof; a gouge between the lower parts of the C and A in AMERICA; and a crack on the roof of the cabin beneath the first S in STATES. Marilyn Keeney submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
