Description
On 2008P-1DEO-009T trails leave the upper left corners of LIBER at 350°, just west of north, and TrailDies notes that they fade in strength toward the centre of the die. Its code is a compact label: date and mint (2008P), denomination (1), obverse design extension (DEO), file (009), trails (T). The middle-die-state coin has no obverse markers and a small crack at the top of column 2 on the reverse. Jeremy Gardner found it. Polishing of the die with a rotary tool is the usual explanation for trails; others point to the die moving against the hub.
