2008 (P) Hawaii State Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2008-P HI WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2008-P Hawaii state quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the earlobe's underside. Obverse markers: chips inside the D of GOD and in the W of WE at its upper left; a pre-die chip depression inside the U of TRUST; and a crack with a chip on the bust's base over the RTER of QUARTER. Reverse markers: chips in the upper parts of both 9's and in the lower part of the 5 in 1959; above the 5 of 1959 there is a pre-die chip depression; and there is another under King Kamehameha's right foot. Kenneth Russell submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
