2007 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-009T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Moderate trails come from the MER of AMERICA on 2007P-1DER-009T, with fainter lines from the tops of some EPU letters and from the scrollwork on the right side of the cornice top. TrailDies points out lines that cross over each other on AMERICA's E and R. Its heading gives the offset as 330°, north-northwest. The code identifies a 2007 Philadelphia cent (2007P and 1) with trails (T) on the reverse (DER), file 009. On the middle-die-state coin a crack with a small chip runs through Lincoln's hair; nothing is noted on the reverse. Bill Slaughter found the die. Rotary polishing of the die is the explanation most give for trails, though some attribute them to die movement against the hub.
