Description
Faint trails hang from the bottoms of the letters on the left half of E PLURIBUS UNUM on 2007P-1DER-007T, running at 120°, east-southeast, toward the lower right. TrailDies' code is made of the 2007 date with Philadelphia's P, the cent's denomination digit, DER for the reverse, file 007, and a T for trails. On the early-die-state coin only the reverse is marked, by a die dot at the right side of the last A of AMERICA. Louis Schaeffer found it. Trail lines are usually put down to rotary polishing of the die; others consider the die moving against the hub the cause.
Die Markers
- Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – none noted
- Reverse is EDS – die dot on the right side of the last A in AMERICA.
