Description

Light trail lines extend from the lower left corners of the letters in LIBERTY at an offset direction of 190 degrees on this Philadelphia Mint Lincoln Memorial Cent trail die obverse. Trail die errors occur when two dies make partial unintended contact during press operations. Die markers at Stage B: obverse at MDS with a memorial bay clash below the ear and a die crack across the forehead above the eye; reverse at MDS with die cracking from the tops of columns 1-3 and die chipping near the roof. This die was found by Will Brooks. Struck in copper-plated zinc at 2.5 grams and 19.05 mm, the 2007-P was produced in the penultimate year of Frank Gasparro's Memorial reverse design, which ran from 1959 through 2008 before giving way to the Lincoln Bicentennial reverses.
