Description
On 2007P-1DEO-017T light trails come off the lower left corners of LIBERTY's letters at 190°, just west of south. Its code reads as Philadelphia 2007, one cent, obverse design extension, file 017, trail die: 2007P, 1, DEO, 017, T. On the middle-die-state coin TrailDies describes, the obverse has a clash of the Memorial's bays beneath Lincoln's ear and a crack across the forehead above the eye, and the reverse has cracks from the tops of columns 1 to 3 with chipping near the roof. Will Brooks found the die. Trails are most often blamed on polishing the die with a rotary buff, although some think the die moved against the hub.
Die Markers
- (Black arrows)Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – memorial bay clash below the ear. Die crack across forehead above eye.
- Reverse is MDS – die cracking from the tops of columns 1-3 with die chipping near roof.
