2007 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-013T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Very light trails come from the 7 of the date on 2007P-1DEO-013T and run at 190°, just west of due south. In its number, 2007P sets the date and mint and 1 the denomination; DEO places the trails on the obverse, 013 is the file, and T marks the trail type. The late-die-state coin has a crack on Lincoln's forehead and cracks at the top of column 1 on the reverse. A forehead crack also appears on files 011 and 015, so the trail on the 7 is the more useful guide. Rotary polishing of the die is the usual explanation for trails; a minority links them to the die moving against the hub.
