2007 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-008T Trail Die Obverse

Description

On 2007P-1DEO-008T trails come off the feet of LIBERTY's letters at 200°, south-southwest. TrailDies compares it with 2007-1DEO-001T but says the markers differ and the trails themselves look different. Its code marks a Philadelphia 2007 cent (2007P, 1), an obverse extension (DEO), file 008 and trails (T). TrailDies shows three stages, and the reverse tells them apart. At stage A (very early) neither side has markers. At stage B a chip is forming on the left edge of the cornice and a crack links the left urn's top to column 3. At stage C the chip is larger, that crack longer, a crack crosses the tops of columns 3 and 4 and a chip sits atop column 2. Jeremy Haynes of Alabama found it. Most attribute trails to polishing of the die with a rotary tool; some attribute them to die-to-hub movement.
