2007 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-007T Trail Die Obverse
Error
Description
2007P-1DEO-007T has two separate sets of trails from the tops of LIBER in LIBERTY, one running at 010°, just east of north, and the other at 350°, just west of north. TrailDies, which calls it another unusual trail die, files it as number 007 under 2007P (Philadelphia, 2007), 1 (cent) and DEO (obverse design extension), with T for trails at the end. On the middle-die-state coin small scratches mark the chin area; the reverse has no markers. Bob Piazza of Florida found the die. Polishing of the die with a rotary buff is the explanation most give for trails; others attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – small die scratches in chin area.
- Reverse is MDS – none noted.
