2007 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DEO-003T Trail Die Obverse

Description

2007P-1DEO-003T has moderate trails leaving the upper left corners of the letters of LIBERTY and IN, offset at 330°, north-northwest. Its file number pairs 2007P with 1 to mark a Philadelphia cent, uses DEO for an obverse extension, and ends with file 003 and T. TrailDies lists two stages. Stage A, early die state, has no obverse markers and, on the reverse, a crack running from the left urn into column 3; stage B, middle die state, has a chip on the lower parts of columns 2 and 3. Jeremy Gardner found the stage A die. Polishing the die with a rotary tool is the usual explanation offered for trails, with die movement against the hub as a minority view.
