Description

The 2005 Minnesota State Quarter attracted intense collector interest when examples surfaced showing extra trees on the reverse — and DDR-061 adds another entry to that catalog. On this doubled die reverse, light spread produces an extra tree tucked low and close to the right of the third tree in the shoreline scene, creating a subtle secondary image requiring careful examination. Die markers UVC-1516 and DMR-064 provide the attribution references. Stage A documents both the obverse and reverse in Early Die State. The Minnesota quarter's reverse, depicting a lakeside scene with trees, two people fishing, and the state outline, had extra-tree varieties which were discovered on high-mintage business strikes. DDR-061's light spread is subtler than the bold extra-tree examples, and it belongs to the same family of doubled dies.
