Description

DDR-053 shows a medium spread manifesting as an extra tree to the lower left of the third full tree on the reverse design. The State Quarters program generated public interest in coin collecting, and variety specialists subjected each new design to intensive examination. VarietyVista tracks this variety under UVC-1508 and DMR-056 across three die stages: Stage A shows both reverse and obverse in Early Die State, while Stage B (MDS) and Stage C (LDS) remain unconfirmed pending additional specimen examination. The tree-heavy reverse design of this 2005 State Quarter provides numerous geometric reference points for identifying doubled die effects. Each reverse design in the program was unique to its state, meaning DDRs from any particular issue can only be found on coins from that single year of production.
