2005 (P) Minnesota State Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse DDR-031

Description

2005-P MN DDR-031 is a doubled die reverse on the 2005-P Minnesota state quarter, cataloged by VarietyVista. The spread is strong but the hubbing light, showing as a very small teardrop-shaped patch of the secondary tree right of the third tree. VarietyVista also gives it as 31-R-VIII, and its chart numbers are UVC-1485 and DMR-033. On Stage A the reverse and obverse are both in an early die state (EDS). On Stage B the reverse is in an early middle die state (EMDS), and a die crack crosses the front of the bust into the field, also EMDS. Stage C adds a die chip in the lower part of the last 8 in 1858, in a middle die state (MDS), and the obverse is MDS as well. Stage D, the late die state, is unconfirmed.
