Description

2005-P MN DDR-022 is a doubled die reverse on the 2005-P Minnesota state quarter, cataloged by VarietyVista. The medium spread forms part of the third full tree right of the state outline, and the doubling shows low, toward the right side of the tree. VarietyVista also gives it as 22-R-VIII; its chart numbers are UVC-1476 and DMR-024. On Stage A the reverse and the obverse are both in an early die state (EDS). On Stage B the reverse is in a middle die state (MDS). A die crack runs across the front of the bust into the field, marked MDS; west of the designer's initials there is a die break; and a depression lies under the WC of the designer's initials. On Stage C the reverse is in a late middle die state (LMDS). A die crack runs from the bust to the Q of QUARTER, marked MDS; a die break sits under the WC of the designer's initials; and a die chip lies between the upper parts of the TR in TRUST.
