2005 (P) Minnesota State Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse DDR-019

Description

2005-P MN DDR-019 is a doubled die reverse on the 2005-P Minnesota state quarter, cataloged by VarietyVista. The medium spread forms part of the third full tree right of the state outline. The doubling has moved entirely away from its point of origin; the secondary tree nestles in tight against the tree's lower right side. VarietyVista also gives it as 19-R-VIII, and its chart numbers are UVC-1473 and DMR-021. On Stage A the reverse and the obverse are both in an early die state (EDS). Stage B shows a die crack across the front of the bust, in an early middle die state (EMDS), and a depression beneath the designer's initials. On Stage C the reverse is in a middle die state (MDS); a depression above the ER of QUARTER is marked EMDS, and there is a die crack in the bow. Stage D, the late die state, is unconfirmed.
