Description

2005-P MN DDR-018 is a doubled die reverse on the 2005-P Minnesota state quarter, cataloged by VarietyVista. The medium spread forms part of the third full tree right of the state outline. The doubling is wholly displaced from its point of origin, and the secondary tree nestles in close against the right side of the tree. VarietyVista also gives it as 18-R-VIII; its chart numbers are UVC-1472 and DMR-020. On Stage A the reverse is in an early die state (EDS), and a die gouge under the U in TRUST is marked early middle die state (EMDS). On Stage B the reverse has reached a middle die state (MDS); die chips on the designer's initials are marked MDS, a die crack crosses the base of the bust, and a die chip sits on the queue east of the ribbon end.
