2005 (P) Minnesota State Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse DDR-014

Description

2005-P MN DDR-014 is a doubled die reverse on the 2005-P Minnesota state quarter, cataloged by VarietyVista. The strong spread appears as part of the third full tree right of the state outline, set off toward the northeast, and as a hook above it. On the earlier die state the hook is stronger. VarietyVista also gives it as 14-R-VIII; its chart numbers are UVC-1468 and DMR-016. On Stage A the reverse and obverse are both in an early die state (EDS). Stage B brings three markers: a die crack running northwest from the upper left of the state outline to the rim, in a middle die state (MDS); a die gouge southwest of the 1 in 1858; and a die crack across the base of the bust that reaches into the field in front, also MDS.
