2004 (P) Wisconsin State Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-029

Description

2004-P WI WDDR-029 is a doubled die reverse on the 2004-P Wisconsin state quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the cow's left nostril. Obverse markers: a crack across the bust's base; gouges right of and over the I of LIBERTY; two gouges between the U and A of QUARTER; a large gouge right of the E of QUARTER, at its base; a gouge inside the O of DOLLAR; a gouge between the E of WE and the ST of TRUST; a gouge at the rim over the IT of UNITED; and a large gouge left of the M of AMERICA. On the reverse, rim cuds line the left side; a thin scratch runs E away from the doubling; another thin scratch heads SE from the L of PLURIBUS at its top; and a gouge lies between the N and S of WISCONSIN. Eric Schmidt submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 8-R-VIII.
