Description
2004-P WI WDDR-028 is a doubled die reverse on the 2004-P Wisconsin state quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the cow's left nostril. Obverse markers: several gouges under the designer's initials JF; a gouge under the RT of LIBERTY; several gouges above the UA of QUARTER and between its U and A; a gouge under the G of GOD; a gouge over the U of TRUST toward its left side; and a gouge right of the T of UNITED. Reverse markers: strong feeder finger scrapes running NW/SE between the cheese wheel and the cow's mouth; a large gouge right of the first I of WISCONSIN, near its base; a large gouge well to the left of the 1 of 1848; and a small gouge under the L of PLURIBUS. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
