CU-1C-2000D-01 Cud
Error
Description
Sole documented cud for the 2000 Denver Lincoln Memorial Cent, contrasting with Philadelphia's five reverse cuds for the same year. This disparity may reflect differences in die management or simply the randomness of fracture events. The cud formed when sustained cyclic stress fractured the die rim, detaching a section whose void filled with copper-plated zinc planchet metal during subsequent strikes. The year 2000 fell during sustained economic growth with massive Denver cent output. Cross-referenced as CU-1C-2000D-01, cataloged by Cuds on Coins — the only known cud for this milestone date from Denver.
