1999 (P) Delaware State Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

1999-P DE WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1999-P Delaware state quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the underside of Washington's earlobe. On the obverse, in UNITED, a short gouge heads south off the N, from the lower right underside of its diagonal, and a small gouge sits below the E and R of LIBERTY, between their bases. Reverse markers: a crack linking the 1 of 1787, at its top, with the base of the A in DELAWARE; a scratch running out to the rim from the first E of DELAWARE, at its top; gouges under the A of STATE; and a crack joining the L of PLURIBUS to the rim. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
