Description
Trails on 1996P-1DER-033T are moderate and come from STATES, E PLURIBUS UNUM, the roof's and cornice's left corners, the scrollwork on the cornice's left side and the tops of the left-hand columns. They point at 330°, north-northwest. In TrailDies' scheme, 1996P gives year and mint, the 1 a one-cent coin, DER a reverse-side extension of the design, and 033T file 033 of the trails type. At its late die state, a crack crosses Lincoln's nose, a gouge sits above the FG initials, and clash marks show in bays 4 and 9. Jason Dick found the die. Trails are typically traced to polishing of the die with a rotary tool; some trace them to the die moving against the hub.

- Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen on Lincoln’s nose.
- Reverse is LDS – a die gouge is seen above the designer’s initials. Die clashes are seen in bays 4 and 9.
