Description

WDDR-006 on the 1995-D Lincoln Memorial Cent (Wexler Variety ID: 1995-D 1¢ WDDR-006) shows a partial extra Memorial column in the 5th bay of the Lincoln Memorial on the reverse. Die markers are recorded on both obverse and reverse sides; the most distinctive reverse marker is two strong die gouges visible inside the upper loop of the second nine in the date — fixed reference points readily confirmed under low magnification and the fastest triage entry point for this variety. The 1995-D Lincoln Memorial Cent is a copper-plated zinc Denver Mint issue from the final decade of the Memorial reverse design before the 2009 Bicentennial reverses replaced it. The 5th-bay column doubling is subtle and benefits from a reference image of the undoubled reverse for direct comparison. Confirm the inside-second-9 die gouges first, then count to the 5th Memorial bay from the left to locate and assess the partial column spread.
