1995 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-005

Description

1995-D WDDR-005 is a doubled die reverse on the 1995-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The eleventh Memorial bay holds an extra column. On the obverse, a pre-die break depression sits on the T of LIBERTY, along its left side, and a gouge lies SE of the second T in TRUST. A scratch runs SE from the underside of the chin to the 1 of the date. On the reverse, die pitting shows right of the last Memorial column, and a gouge sits above the Memorial's right base. Another gouge lies beneath the right end of the crossbar of the T in CENT, and a gouge touches the first U in UNUM on its lower right side. Lucien G. Robinson submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDR-004. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
