Error
Description
The stairs of 1993P-1DER-066WS bend only lightly, and only under columns 5, 6 and 7, at an offset of 190°, slightly west of south. The code reads Philadelphia 1993 (1993P), one cent (1), reverse design extension (DER), TrailDies file 066 and wavy steps (WS), trails that cross the steps and give them a rippled outline. The middle-die-state coin carries two clusters of small gouges on Lincoln's shoulder, and the O of ONE has two gouges, one on its upper left edge and one inside the letter. Polishing the die with a rotary tool is the generally accepted cause, with die-against-hub movement offered by some as an alternative.
