1993 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-064T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Trails on 1993P-1DER-064T run at about 060°, east-northeast, toward the upper right. They leave the top right corners of the motto's letters, show as short nubs on the tops of STATES, mark the right planter, and touch the letters of ONE CENT; one crosses from the left side of the T's crossbar in CENT. In the code, 1993P and 1 give the year, mint and cent denomination, DER says the design extension is on the reverse, 064 is the file and T means trails. It is an early die state; scratches left from removing traces of a clash run through the central bays of the Memorial. Bob Piazza of Florida found it. Most observers link trails to polishing of the die with a rotary buff, while some put them down to die movement against the hub.
