1993 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-059T Trail Die Reverse

Description

1993P-1DER-059T has two opposed sets of light trails. One set, at 000°, runs due north toward the top of the coin from the top left corners of ONE's N and E and the top right corner of CENT's N; the other, at 180°, runs due south from the bottom left corners of CENT's E and N. The letters and digits of the code stand for Philadelphia 1993, the cent, a reverse design extension (DER), file 059 and trails (T). TrailDies grades the coin stage C, middle on the obverse and late on the reverse, which has a chip at the lower left of column 3 and heavy scratching, worst in bays 10 to 12. Louis Schaeffer found it. Like trails generally, these are most often traced to the die being polished with a rotary tool, while some attribute them to the die's movement against the hub.

• Stage “C”, obverse is MDS – none noted
• Reverse is LDS – die chip on the lower left side of column 3. Heavy die scratching is seen, especially in bays 10, 11 and 12.
