Description
1993P-1DER-048WS: a 1993 Philadelphia one-cent piece, design extension on the reverse die (DER), file 048, wavy steps (WS). TrailDies sees light step deviation below columns 5 through 8, a little stronger on the left half, with the trails offset at 180°, due south; in a wavy-step die those trails cross the stairs and ripple them. The coin comes from late in the die's use. Obverse markers were not noted, but the reverse has two die dots, one in the gap between UNITED's U and column 1 and one beneath the diagonal of the N in ONE. Trails of this sort are usually put down to a rotary buff used to polish the die face, though a few specialists attribute them to the die moving against the hub.

- Reverse is LDS – die dot between the U of UNITED and the first column. Die dot under the diagonal of the N in ONE.
