1993 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-037T Trail Die Reverse

Description

1993P-1DER-037T has no long trails. What TrailDies records is slight distortion of the Ts in STATES and of the letters and periods of EPU, enough to estimate an offset direction of 330°, north-northwest, up and to the left. Its number puts the date and mint first (1993P), then the cent (1), the tag DER (reverse design extension), file 037 and the trails letter T. The reverse is heavily scratched all over, and the die was paired with an obverse trail die, 1993P-1DEO-001, so both sides of the coin carry the effect. Bob Piazza of Florida found it. As with other trail dies, rotary polishing of the die is the usual attribution, and a minority view blames movement of the die against the hub.
