Description

1993D-1DER-028WS gets its WS from trail lines under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8 that leave the stairs wavy. They run at 180°, toward the bottom of the coin. The rest of TrailDies' code is 1993D (date and Denver mint), 1 (the denomination), DER (extension on the reverse) and 028 (file). The entry gives no strength grade. Its middle-die-state coin has a small gouge high in the field above the 3 of the date and a die chip in column 2 on the reverse. Wayne Perry found the die. Trails are generally explained as marks left by polishing the die with a rotary tool, while some trace them to the die moving against the hub.
