Description
1993D-1DER-026T is a 1993 Denver cent reverse with trails: its parts are 1993D, date and mint; 1, cent; DER, design extension on the reverse; 026, file; T, trails. Lines come from the letter tops of E PLURIBUS UNUM, from the cornice and from the tops of the columns on the right side. The entry is headed 060°, northeast, but its text gives the offset as 330°, north-northwest, so the direction is uncertain. The middle-die-state coin has a die dot behind Lincoln's back, level with the Y of LIBERTY, and nothing noted on the reverse. Jean Lee found the die. Trails are commonly traced to polishing of the die with a rotary buff; a minority links them to the die moving against the hub.
