This variety was discovered on the 1993 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen on the lower left serif of the mint mark. Another small die gouge is seen on the lower right coat of Lincoln. Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen to the left of the U in UNITED. This die was found by Michael Pope of Illinois.
