1993 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-008WS Trail Die Reverse

Description

1993D-1DER-008WS has moderate effects throughout: fluting lines below columns 2 and 3 and a moderate bend in the stairs under columns 5 to 8, which TrailDies heads at 180°, due south. The WS on the end means wavy steps, trails that run over the Memorial steps so they look warped; 1993D is the Denver date, 1 a one-cent coin, DER the reverse-side flag and 008 the file. On the middle-die-state coin there is nothing on the obverse. The reverse markers are a gouge at the lower right of column 2, gouges high in bay 3, and one above the second shrub on the right. Trails are generally considered the result of polishing the die with a rotary tool, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
