1992 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-005T Trail Die Reverse

Description

1992P-1DER-005T is a 1992 Philadelphia cent reverse with trails. TrailDies' number holds the date and mint letter, the 1 for its denomination, DER for an extended reverse design, file 005 and T for the trail type. The lines are light and rise from the tops of the motto's letters, angled at 030°, up and to the right (north-northeast). The late-die-state coin TrailDies describes has a small gouge in the field under LIBERTY's R and nothing to note on the reverse. Bill Slaughter found it. Trails are generally thought to come from a rotary buff used to polish the die, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
