Joshua Haynes of Alabama found 1992P-1DER-002WS. TrailDies' number covers a 1992 Philadelphia cent (1992P, 1), DER for the design extension on its reverse, file 002 and the wavy-step type (WS): trails running over the Memorial's steps so that the stair lines wobble. Here the wobble is light but crisply defined, under columns 5 to 8, at an offset of 190°, slightly west of south. On the middle-die-state coin described, a die scrape cuts through the bottom of GOD's G, and on the reverse a die dot sits just right of CENT's T. Most specialists attribute trails to polishing of the die with a rotary tool; some think the die moved against the hub.
