1990 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - P-1DER-010T Trail Die Reverse

Description

On 1990P-1DER-010T the trails run up and to the right at 040°, northeast. They come off the lower right corners of N, T and E in UNITED, the upper right corners of STATE in STATES and of every letter in E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the right-hand corners of the stylobate and the roof. Its code pairs a 1990 Philadelphia strike (1990P) and the one-cent denomination (1) with TrailDies' reverse-extension tag DER, the file number 010 and T for trails. TrailDies' coin is very late in the life of both dies, identified by a small gouge below the first 9 of the date and another above the third corner step of the stylobate. Louis Schaeffer found it. Most attribute trails to rotary polishing of the die, though a few think the die moved against the hub.
