Description

1988-D WTRD-007 is a transitional reverse design on the 1988-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as a 1988-D Lincoln cent struck with the 1989 reverse design. On the obverse, a WSW-to-ENE scratch lies over the Y in LIBERTY. WSW of the mint mark, on the lower front of the bust, there are two short scratches that are not quite parallel, and a scratch heads WSW off the back of the head, left of the top of the ear. On the reverse, a scratch runs from the upper right of the N to the upper left of the T in CENT. Billy G. Crawford submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CTRD-005.
