Error
Description
Light trails start at the top left corners of the I, B, E, R and Y of LIBERTY on 1986P-1DEO-001T, pointing toward 350°, slightly west of north. In TrailDies' file code, 1986P marks the year and mint, the lone 1 the cent, DEO an obverse design extension, and 001T the file and type. The coin it describes was struck late in the dies' service (stage C), with heavy scratching on the obverse, concentrated over the RTY of LIBERTY, and more heavy scratching across the lower part of the reverse beneath the Memorial. No finder is named. Trails are most often explained as the result of polishing the die with a rotary buff, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.

- Reverse is LDS – heavy die scratching on the lower part of the die under the Memorial building.
