Description
1985P-1DEO-002T is a 1985 Philadelphia cent obverse with trails coming off LIBERTY at 350°, a few degrees west of north, toward the upper rim. The number gives date and mint (1985P), the one-cent denomination (1), DEO for the obverse, and then 002T, the second trails file. TrailDies describes a stage B coin with a small gouge to the left of WE. Its reverse is heavily abraded and scattered with random scratches. Joe Koelling found the die. Trails are generally attributed to rotary polishing of the die, though some writers put them down to the die moving against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen to the left of the word WE.
- Reverse is MDS – the reverse has been heavily abraded and has random die scratches throughout.
