Description
This 1984 Denver Roosevelt dime obverse, 1984D-10DEO-001T, has trails from LIBERTY and from the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, running at 170°, slightly east of due south. In TrailDies' numbering, 1984D gives the year and Denver mint, 10 the dime, DEO a design extension on the obverse; the file is 001, and T denotes trails. Mathew Sallee found it. On the middle-die-state coin described, tiny chips line the bottom of Roosevelt's bust and another small chip sits against the right side of the 9 in the date; the reverse shows no markers. Most accounts trace trails to polishing of the die with a rotary tool; a few attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – small die chips are seen along the base of Roosevelt’s bust. A small die chip is seen on the right side of the 9 digit in the date.
- Reverse is MDS – none noted
