1982 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Bronze Large Date - P-1DER-001T Trail Die Reverse

Description

1982P(LDZ)-1DER-001T is a 1982 Philadelphia Lincoln cent reverse with trails. After the date and mint, TrailDies adds a design tag in parentheses, (LDZ), that it uses to sort the 1982 varieties; then the denomination digit 1, DER for the reverse side, file 001 and T for trails. Moderate lines leave the tops of the motto letters EPU, and the crossbars of both Ts, along with the E, in STATES look slightly pulled out of shape. The offset direction is 010°, just east of north. On the stage B coin TrailDies describes, midway through the dies' working life, the obverse shows no markers, while the reverse has small gouges in and around the word ONE plus one more beneath the U of UNITED. Steven Bingham of Missouri found the die. Trails are generally credited to rotary polishing of the die, though a smaller camp links them to the die moving against the hub.
