1977 (S) Proof Eisenhower Dollar - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

1977-S WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1977-S proof Eisenhower dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is Class II toward the rim, and the reverse also shows master die doubling (MDDR). It appears on the top bars of DO in DOLLAR, the lower right serif of the LL, the middle bar of the A and R, and the leg of the R. Both lower serifs of DOLLAR's A are split. The obverse is WDDO-010, with a Type 1 S mint mark tilted heavily clockwise (CW). On the reverse, a faint scratch sits in the field between DOLLAR's D and O, halfway up the D. Tim Wissert submitted the variety, with photos by Brian Allen. Wexler lists no cross-references.
