Description
1976-D WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 1976-D Bicentennial Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A strong clockwise (CW) spread, pivoting near 6:00, shows on LIBERTY, with a weaker spread on IN GOD WE TRUST and the upper queue. Obverse markers: a north-south scratch NE of the mint mark; a scratch heading SW from the B of LIBERTY at its upper left; and a scratch running north from the R of LIBERTY at its lower right. Wexler notes no reverse markers. Ron Pope submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 1-O-V, Breen as #4452, and Cherrypickers as FS-25-1976D-101 (028). Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
