WSDO-001 represents a secondary die obverse — a category of variety where the doubled image originates not from a single working die receiving multiple hub impressions but from the working hub itself carrying doubling that then transfers to every working die produced from it. For the 1972-D Kennedy half dollar, this translates to a light counterclockwise spread pivoting from approximately 11 o'clock that appears on IN GOD WE TRUST and LIBERTY. Because the doubling exists at the hub level, both obverse and reverse die markers will vary among the different working dies affected, making die-specific diagnostics unreliable for attribution; instead, the doubling pattern itself serves as the primary identifier.
